What is CBD?

CBD or Cannabidiol to give it its full name is a naturally occurring extract derived from the Hemp plant. The Hemp plant is a close-cousin of the much-maligned Marijuana plant and has very low amounts of THC, the `stuff that gives a “high”. CBD and other Cannabinoids have been used for years around the world for various different reasons.

CBD derived solely from the Hemp plant is legal in the UK so long as is below, an utterly negligible amount.

Is CBD Legal? Will it get me "High"?

In the UK, CBD products are legal so long as they contain less than 0.01% of THC. Not all products from the Cannabis plant are illegal and if consumed can be beneficial.

THC in the above stated amounts has no psychoactive effects.

Laboratory reports are provided to show the active ingredients and the constituent amounts.

Is it Safe?

CBD is widely considered to be safe and has been consumed for many years. It is not, however, a medicine and should not be considered one and as with any food supplement, advice should be sought from your GP or consultant.

Millilitres (ml),  Milligrams (mg), % strength - How do I know what I am really going to get?

It is our belief that you as the consumer should be able to know exactly what you are getting from our products. The strength of CBD should be easily understood but there are unscrupulous companies that cause misunderstanding when labelling the active ingredient (CBD) in their products.

Firstly, Revitalize CBD will always believe in being exact. So, if you see 1000mg, 500mg or 2000mg labelled that is the weight of active ingredient that is within the product. Milligrams are a unit of mass (weight)

The standard size bottle of CBD oil that we sell is 10ml which is a mixture of pure CBD and a carrier oil. Other companies influenced by the United States will sell CBD oil in other volumes such as 30ml (approx 1 fl oz). Millilitres are a unit of volume.

% Strength is calculated using the below formula and is based on our 5% 500mg 10 ml CBD oil.

Volume: (1ml = 1000mg) Bottle size is 10ml so 1000*10 = 10,000mg

500mg (active ingredient CBD)

500/10,000 = 0.05 or 5%

However, some companies may put the same amount of CBD in a larger bottle e.g 30ml. Giving you a weaker product as can be seen below: -

500/30,000 = 0.0167 or 1.67%

This means you would have to take 3 times the amount in millilitres (ml) of their CBD oil compared to Revitalize CBD to have the same effect.

Will I fail a drugs test if I take CBD?

Any Bona fide CBD products sold in the UK must contain only trace amounts of THC (the element that the Drugs Test focusses on) you would have to consume large volumes of product to fail a drugs test from CBD products alone. The entire Range of Revitalize CBD products contain trace elements of THC and is fully compliant with UK law.

How do I take CBD? Why is there no specific dosage information?

Revitalize CBD offers different products for consumers to choose how they would prefer to take CBD.

There are oils in various strengths that are best administered using the pipette provided to drop the oil under the tongue; one of and if not the fastest ways for the body to absorb the extract.  A CBD balm can be used topically on the skin and then there are also capsules for people that find them easier to manage.

Can you overdose on CBD?

No. CBD is non-toxic, as such no fatal overdose levels have ever been reported. Several studies have evaluated the safety of CBD in adults and concluded that it’s well tolerated at levels greater than the average person would need.
